Ming Wai Yeung




Research interest

I am interested in disease modeling with statistical methods and machine learning methods. I previously worked on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) in people with type 2 diabetes. The project involved the study of association between NAFLD and CKD and in light of such association, the construction of a population specific risk score to screen individuals with high risk for advanced liver disease in people with type 2 diabetes. As a side project, I also explored the relationship between circadian rhythm and NAFLD. For Bachelor thesis I studied the genetics and epigenetics of bipolar disorder.
